Five Minute Friday: Mercy

It’s time for Five Minute Friday, where writers at all skill levels take the challenge to write based on a one word prompt … no edits … for 5 minutes flat. Want to play along? Go to http://www.lisajobaker.com./ and dive in. Let’s go!

Psalms 55:16, 17

But I will call on God, and the Lord will rescue me. Morning, noon, and night I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.

The world groans and sighs under the weight, beneath the daily burdens of pain and suffering as a result of it’s brokenness. We trudge along the path, we walk along the Way, through the muck of life, offering hands of help and hope for those encounters for which we are equipped, praying fervently for those for which we are not. Souls cry out for mercy, defiant in the face of darkness, clinging to the hope and promise of our Heavenly Father. May His abundant grace and mercy pour out, may His boundless and eternal love cover us like a healing balm. Heal us O Lord, have mercy on those who cry out to You.
